What is baptism?
Baptism is the act of immersing a Christian in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in obedience to the command of Jesus (Matthew 28:19). It symbolizes the union the believer enjoys in Jesus’ death and resurrection (Romans 6:1-4). It also symbolizes having our sins washed away (Acts 22:16).
At Fellowship we do not believe that baptism “saves you”. We do believe that is an important step for every believer to follow Jesus’ example (Matthew 3:13-17), obey his command to be baptized, and to show others his decision to follow God!
